Easter weekend

Aiden is 1 week old. My sister always took pictures of her babies and a stuffed animal to show growth. I bought him a "baby hippo" because Jerel always called me that when I was pregnant. Yes kinda sounds mean but I guess he thinks they are really cute. Its been a pretty good week baby weighs about 8.4 lbs and is doing good. He seems to be a pretty clam baby. He only cries when he is cold for the most part. For Easter we spent most of the day with Jerel's family for Trevor's birthday, with Aiden tucked away in the other room. Dr. Firth wants us to keep him away from people and groups for about a month. We also had the chance to roll Easter eggs down Old main.

Wednesday morning I went to my Dr. appointment and was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced so and had my membranes stripped lightly is what Dr. Firth said, that sometimes that helps to get things going. I left the office at about 10am and by 1030am or so I was starting to have some good contractions. By 1pm I was having some pretty strong menstrual like crapping and they were about every 5 or so mins lasting about 30-40 seconds. So, worried that the contractions might stop I washed my car and tried keep walking around. When my mom got home from work we went on a short walk around the block and then up to the hospital. I was really worried that we would get sent home. When I called Jerel and told him I thought that I might be in labor he was like hmmm are you sure? When we got up to there and all check out, I was dilated to a 4+ and fully effaced. We got to the hospital around 430pm. The contractions by this point were very painful and getting stronger and closer together so they let me get my epidural which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. That thing kicked in pretty quick! I don't know how anyone could go through those dang contractions let along labor and delivery without one. By 830 I was fully dilated to a 10 without my water breaking so a Dr. came in and broke it and I was told that I could start pushing at 930pm. Pretty painful stuff I tell you! There was for sure times when I thought I couldn't do it any more.  I got really nauseated and sick to my stomach and ended up throwing up all over which was really embarrassing but I felt a ton better after. Dr. Firth got there at around 10 or 103opm and he said that the baby's head was too big to fit so a C-section might be a possibility. I ended up having a episiotomy and was finally able to push the baby out. 1150pm  Aiden Jerel Nielsen was born weighing 8.1 lbs, 21 in April 4, 2012! He had a very short 10 min birthday! :) They put a mirror by the Dr. so I could see, the first thing I said when his head was out was, " his cheeks are chunky!" or that he was fat. I can't remember for sure but something along those lines. Everyone couldn't believe how much hair he had. We stayed until Friday afternoon and was able to go home.

39 Weeks

Baby Aiden is 39 Weeks! And the count down begins! Only 7 DAYS until babies due date April 10th!!!! Who really knows if he will be here before then or after. Dr. Firth told me to expect to go over a week so April 17th. I have pretty much done everything I can do to encourage little one to come a few days early which includes: walking until my legs feel like jello! The past few weeks I have been walking at least 30 mins a day where as of Saturday I have been walking more like an hour a day. I vacuumed, washed washed walls, and cleaned my house top to bottom. Looks like this little baby is happy all snuggly and warm in mommies tummy. Tomorrow is my 39 week appointment. I am hoping to be at least dilated some what. Who knows! This Saturday is the Mann's Easter Egg hunt which my family always goes to except we are thinking about opting out this year because I don't want to go out of town this close to the due date, not to mention my car has decided to take a crap and has been having issues. I love this time of year! The last few Easters we have gone to Old Main Hill to roll easter eggs down the hill as a family. I am looking forward to that as well as the easter egg hunt that Nibley does every year. Its fun to go watch the kids. Hopefully we will be able to go this year. Last year we slept in so we will see what happens. Or maybe little one will decide to make an appearance!
UPDATE: I went to the Dr. and I am dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. So heres to hoping. Autumn my niece just told me that she thinks he will be born on the 5th and has been saying that for a few days. I would take that!
