Kasen's birth story
We arrived at the hospital at 6:30am. Grandma Achatz stayed with Aiden & Jade at home until Grandma Neesey & Papa Al got there. I was started on pitocin at 7:30am. I was checked at 7:45am and was only dilated 2cm & 70% effaced which is what I was on Monday. I thought I might have been in early labor the day before (10/14/15) but I guess those contractions didn't do anything. The nurse upped my pitocin every half hour but it wasn't until it was up to 14 did I start having harder contractions. It was upped to 18 and they started coming harder and faster. At 10:15am I was only dilated to 3cm but by 12:10pm I was 5+. To cope with the contractions I rocked in my knees, did circles on the birthing ball & focused on my breathing long out breaths counting to 8. They started to get much more painful & harder for me to work through. I wouldn't say they were any harder of faster than contractions with Jade. Painful because i didn't know how long it was going to take for me to be a 10. By 7+ I was ready for my epidural & told me nurse I wanted it. She left to go order it. By then I started to have an urge to push or have a BM. I kinda knew I wouldn't be getting the epidural but seeing a pain free option close helped keep me. They moved me back into my bed, before that I had been kneeling on the foot of the bed which lowered so I could. I could hardly get into the bed turning over and into a squat supporting my self with my arms & had an extreme urge to push. The dr wasn't there yet & they weren't sure if I was a complete 10 until I heard they nurse yell "she's crowning get Dr. Gibson!" They had me try to blow candles out and not push. I did that for a contraction but the next contraction I couldn't not push. The Dr. came in and I was about dying. They had me grab my thighs, take a deep breath and push. I pushed maybe 6 times without waiting for a contraction and he was here. Imagine my surprise when they said he was 8lbs 13oz!!!

So tiny! The nurses thought I was nuts only staying a little over 24 hours. I guess I miss my kids too much.
They look really skeptical of him but they were just curious.
Aiden was excited to see baby.
I love how he says Kasen! First time hearing Jade says baby too.
Yep I think she's got it down.
Cute brothers! Aiden really liked holding him and asked to hold him not once but two times.
Jade had to sit by them too but didn't want to hold him. She will sit by me while I hold Kasen and help me pat his back and say awww or baby several times.
We are so excited he is finally here and so very blessed to have him join our family. So in love with him already!
